The history of San Antonio Atlacomulco Hacienda started during the conquest of New Spain which was headed by Captain General Hernán Cortés, who in 1530 decided to grow sugar cane on the property, in order to supply sugar production in Tlaltenango, an aquaduct of about 1,680 meters long was also constructed, which supplied the necessary water for the crops, this aquaduct ran from Chapultepec all the way to the Hacienda.

In 1642, Estefanía Aragón Pignatelli 6a. Marquis of the Valley of Oaxaca decided to move the sugar cane plantation from Tlaltenengo to San Antonio Atlacomulco, where he started the most important sugar plantation of New Spain and after the Revolution, of Independent Mexico. Even though it was never modernized, it was still a very important place for the society of the time.
